How to Suggest Updates to the Spell Checker Dictionary

Overview

The InfraWare Transcription Client (ITC) includes a built-in medical spell check dictionary.  From time to time InfraWare updates the word list in that dictionary to accommodate the evolving language of medical terminology.


Solution

The InfraWare user community represents a broad cross-section of skilled medical transcriptionists who are the best source of information for new words (medicines, phrases, etc.).  Two methods of communication are listed below.

  • InfraWare Transcription Client (ITC): The InfraWare Transcription Client (ITC) allows transcriptionist to suggest a word to be added to the System Dictionary.

Requirements:  You will need the following before you begin:

  • Transcriptionist login ID and password for the ITC

Tasks

  • In the Editor Window, under the Help menu.  Click Help ⇒ SpellChecker Suggestion.
  • Enter the Correctly Spelled Word, Details (such as a web link for verification), and indicate the Issue (Missing, Misspelled, Other).
  • Click Send.


  • The InfraWare Management Console (IMC): The InfraWare Management Console (IMC) includes a page on which users can suggest the addition or deletion of words for the InfraWare spell checker. 

Requirements:

    • An Administrator login ID and password for the IMC

Tasks

  • Click the Help tab ⇒ SpellChecker sub-tab.
  • Enter the Correctly Spelled Word, Details (such as a web link for verification), and indicate the Issue (Missing, Misspelled, Other).
  • Click Submit.

All submissions are verified and then included in the development project for the next product release.
