How do I disable the Timeout feature in the IMC and Secure Web Portal?

Answer / Solution

Allow IMC/Portal Timeout Feature to be Disabled

Overview

The InfraWare 360 Platform automatically logs out a user from each web application after a period on inactivity as a security measure to prevent unauthorized access to screens and content.  In some environments, security is controlled by other means and it is preferred to leave users connected for an extended period of time.  In the IMC, Administrators can select a setting to Disable Automatic Logout in the IMC for Account Users or Disable Automatic Logout in the Secure Web Portal for Facility users.  This allows those users to stay logged in to the IMC or Secure Web Portal for an extended period of time without automatic logout.

You will need the following before you begin:
  • An Administrator login ID and password for the IMC.

To Enable/Disable Automatic Logout in the IMC:

Tasks:
  • Log in to the IMC at www.InfraWare.com/IMC
  • Choose the Administrator tab.
  • Click Edit Account
  • Select the Advance view and scroll down to the Features section to find “Allow IMC Timeout to be Disabled”
  • Put a checkmark next to it.
  • Click Save Changes.

To Enable/Disable Automatic Logout in the SecureWeb Portal:

Tasks:
  • Log in to the IMC at www.InfraWare.com/IMC
  • Choose the Administration tab, choose Facilities sub-tab.
  • Click on the Facility you would like to edit.
  • Select Advance view and scroll down to the Portal section “Allow Users to Disable Timeout”
  • Put a checkmark next to it.
  • Click Save Changes.

After these settings are done, when the user signs into the IMC or Secure Web Portal they need to:

  • Go to the Tasks Page
  • Click Disable Timeout.
  • A pop-up window will come up that should remain open as long as they would like to stay signed in.
