How do I manage (reveal or condense) the job status my clients see in the Secure Web Portal?

Answer / Solution

How to Display Actual Job Status in Secure Web Portal for a User

Overview

By default, client users who log into the Secure Web Portal are provided condensed job status information as described in KB281. Most InfraWare customers prefer this so their clients will not micro-manage their production processes. Sometimes specific facility users require more specific job status information in the Secure Web Portal. For these users, follow the steps listed below.

Tasks

  • Login to the InfraWare Management Console (IMC) using your IW Administrator username and password.
  • Select the Administration Tab --> Users sub-tab.
  • Click on the user name to bring up the User Settings: --> at the bottom of the window, check the box next to "Display actual job status in the Portal".
  • Press "Save User" to commit your changes.

Note: There is also a facility setting (see KB388) that allows all client users for a chosen facility to view detailed statistics in the Secure Web Portal. This setting is redundant to the individual user setting and is a better choice if the Admin wishes to have this setting for all users.
