What is the Document Type of Last Resort?

Answer / Solution

Document Type of Last Resort Explained

Summary

Administrators on the InfraWare 360 platform can specify what document type should be used as a last resort for jobs which are submitted without a document type and there is no default document type set up at the Author level.  This Document Type of Last Resort port means the preferred template and workflow routing methods are observed by the platform, even when a job does not have a document type chosen by the Author of the job at the time of dictation.  This setting will be observed when there is no document type associated with the job and there is no default document type set at the Author level.  See KB154 for details on how to set a default document type at the Author level.

Steps

This feature is currently only available in IMC Beta:  https://beta.infraware.com/IMC

  • Log in to the IMC Beta as an administrator.
  • Go to the Administrative tab ⇒ Facilities sub-tab.
  • Click on the Facility for which you would like to establish the setting.
  • Select Advanced View and scroll down to the Dictation section to find "Document Type of Last Resort."
  • Choose from the drop-down menu populated with document types associated with the facility.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Update Facility.
  • Voila!  This setting will be observed for jobs submitted to the platform after this change was saved.

Note:  If no default document type is set at the Author level and no Document Type of Last Resort is set up at the Facility level, jobs submitted without a defined document type will be assigned a "System-Generic" document type and will be routed in FIFO order without a template.
