How do I Restore a Previous version of a document in the ITC?

Answer / Solution

ITC - Recover Previous Version

Overview

The ITC keeps a set of 10 autosaved versions of the document which is currently being transcribed/edited in the ITC Editor.  These are created by the existing background autosave timer (See KB482 for details).  Additional autosaves take place ahead of undo, cut, and paste actions.  This gives users a way of restoring a good version if they encounter an issue with undo/cut/paste.

Requirements

  • ITC version 7.1.3.1 or newer.

Summary

  • The saved versions are accessed by going to Help ⇒ Restore Previous Version.
  • This will bring up the window below.  Selecting an item on the left will display the content on the canvas to the right.  The content is read only, but can be copied to the clipboard if only a segment is needed.  There is also a 'Find' option to search within the displayed document on the right.
  • If you click the 'Restore' button, the content will be loaded into the ITC Editor.
