Why won't my system play audio in the ITC?

Answer / Solution

Why won't my system play audio in the ITC?

Overview

If a machine with a properly working sound card is unable to play audio in the ITC, a Windows performance setting might need to be set.

Also, the setting can solve the following error reported by some customers:

“Internal Error, cannot load engine number 8” ( that number can vary)

Solution

In Windows 10, try the following:

  • Select the Windows Start button and type - View Advanced System settings, then click Open.

  • Click the Settings button under Performance.

  • Click the Data Execution Prevention Tab: if not already selected, try selecting the option "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only", press "OK", close the system properties and see if the error persists.

Note: The problem could also be related to foot pedal set up issue (see KB62).
